Welcome to GardenKitchener, also known as the Kitchener Horticultural Society (KHS)! We’re a friendly, not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting horticultural and environmental awareness while fostering community throughout Waterloo Region.
Since our establishment in 1872, we’ve worked hard to cultivate a sense of local pride, helping individuals and businesses create healthy, beautiful green spaces. Our commitment to enhancing our community through gardening has made a lasting impact, encouraging everyone to appreciate and care for our natural environment.
Our members are passionate gardening and plant enthusiasts from all walks of life and experience levels. Together, we connect, learn, and share through various events, both in person and online, all year round.
Join us for engaging seminars that offer practical tips and techniques on a variety of gardening topics. Events like Seedy Saturday and our annual Bulb Sale inspire you to try new skills and create beautiful gardens in your home—whether indoors, in your yard, or on your balcony. Our hands-on workshops invite you to get creative, from constructing planters and designing festive urns to building vertical gardens and beyond!
We’re also proud to oversee Kitchener’s stunning Rockway Gardens, which serves as the perfect backdrop for summer concerts, teaching tours, and volunteer opportunities to engage your green thumb. Come learn more about Rockway Gardens here!
